When i rev it up, it stays there for while?

Question:
76 honda 360

what do u think if u know that i am a new user of Honda rc51 (2007)?

when i rev it up, it stays there for while(10sec) and it comes down to idle.
cable comes back right away
If I rev it up to 5000 , it idles at about 3-4000 for 10sec and comes down to 1200 idle.
Left Spark plug looks wet with fuel
There is popping sound every 5-10 sec with white smoke.
I just rebuild the carb and float was moving how it suppose to.
I turn 1 1/2 on fuel mixture on both carb. Tried 1 turn out but still same.
What else can it be?
thanks guardrail. But it is running better just...having more problem after another....

I am great fan of Bajaj pulsar but not able to get any good site for pictures and full specifications?

You are getting too much fuel through the left carburator. The excess burning off is what's keeping the rpm up. Float moving is good, but float height setting is what's important.

When synchronizing the carburators, the left is adjusted first, and the right is set to match it.

any motorcycle riding classes in tampa FL?

Back in the 70s there were alot of motors with a device that didn't let the rpm come down rapidly, it brought it down gradually. The thinking was that it would eliminate operator error when changing gears) you wouldn't get a jerky gear shift from dropping the throttle suddenly.

Do Honda motorcycles still come with tool kits?

Since I never had a Honda 360, I don't have a mental picture of what you're looking at. If I had the bike, I'd eliminate the part altogether, but the engine/carb may be so ill mannered it actually needs that little part to run halfway decent.

When referring to motorcycles what is rake and trail?

Intake manifold air leak. Either the manifolds are cracked or the gaskets are leaking. When the bike is reving, spray all around the manifolds with wd-40. If they are leaking, it will seal the holes temporarily and bring the idle down. That's a test to find a leak.

What is the latest Carl Fogerty DVD?

Gaurd rail is correct on this. You for sure have a leak. If I was you I would look at the base of the carbs that you had off.You may not have them set correctly (installed tight, cracked gasket, etc.) and now are sucking to much air which is causing this up hang in the idle and the back fire.

Where do I check the year/production date on my Honda ATV it is a Rancher Fourtrax?

It might be the slide in your carb is sticking. If a multi carb bike, the non-sticking carb(s) will return the throttle cable.
If so, you'll need to polish/smooth the slide/bore of your carb so it doesn't stick.
