Why are some people smart asses when answering questions about Harleys?

Question:
I asked a legitimate question that I know little about and I got some rude resoponses. I am a rookie rider and am seeking information. How else am I to find out what I need to know if not by asking? I have noticed that I am not the only one that has asked this... And I thought Harley riders were generally good people.

i want to put a disc brake at rear end of my CBZ can anybody tell mre the approx cost of applying it?

It's a two-sided issue. First you have all the Harley basher types and second are the Harley guys who think they know it all. Being a new rider is tough and we have all BTDT with crazy questions.
You won't know unless you ask....right?! Read through your entire owners manual to get acquainted with your bike. Then seek out a web forum on your specific model or even a newbie riders forum. That way you will get the unbiased results you seek.

vincent bike?

Keep asking.
You did the right thing by asking a tire guy about your valve stems, but if that is what he said I stand by what I said. Don't have him mount your tires. Go someplace else.

i want to buy a second hand bajaj bike, so which site i should refer?

As far as finding good information here, you will have to pick and choose from what you get. There are a number of people that will give you straight up good answers, and there are those that don't have a clue what a motorcycle is, let alone how to ride one, or fix one. Unfortunately, a lot of decent people have stopped answering because of all the ignorant bull crap.

1973 harley chopper?

I'm sorry, I'll admit I laughed at your question too. I needed to be reminded I started learning somewhere too, even if it was a long time ago.
And a Harley happens to be what I'm riding now. Wasn't always so.

how to fit a ignition advancer to 650 suzuki bandit?

Edit,10hrs.later:
I see the question in question has been removed. People don't know you wanted to find out how to put air in your tires. You deserved the answers you got. None of them were really rude. I even repeated the rudest part of mine in the beginning of this one.

Motorcycle stores in Boston MA?

I am sorry you have had such negative responses. You see real riders, whatever they ride, will always take time to help another rider. It is the same wind we all ride in and face the same challenges, so don't let the idiots and wanna-be's discourage you.

Is there any bike capable of running by single wheel..?

It ain't just Harley riders brother. It's all over Y Answers.
The tactic that most people use is to report the smart aleck answers But as a group, Harley riders are no worse than most, better than some.

i have a 1978 honda cr 125 in very good condition how much is it worth?

You thought right. Most Harley riders are good people and will help a rookie out. Just like everything though, their are a small percentage of Harley riders that wouldn't help a rookie out, or anyone for that matter. Keep in mind, those that ride other brands tend to look down on us Harley riders. They look for any sign of a Harley rider that fits their misconceptions and then respond with some childlike rude response. All you can do is pass those answers by. You'll be able to tell from the response if it's from someone trying to seriously help. Welcome to the Harley world.

In a group of scooter riders, how do they ride on the road when cars wants to pass?

The best way to get advice is to join a riders club. Some members will even be generous enough to help you with simple fix ups or modifications. I found a harley rider in my local club to be very helpful.

Sportbike rider :)

crank no ignition?

All joking aside. I believe all riders are basically good people and will help you out.
Personally, I don't like Harleys, but I'm not going to tell you not to buy one. I have my reasons, you have yours. Both are equally valid.

Why are sport bike and normal bike people nice. And why do Harley riders have a macho attitude problem?

There are many resources on the net to gather information on any bike. You just have to put in the time to do the research. Then select a few that interest you and go to a bike show, or dealer. Sit on the bike and see if its comfortable for you.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement horn for a 1987 Sportster?

Harley Riders are some of the best in the world. But many of them/us are also pretty stuck up. I guess some think their coins are better than others. If you are a beginning rider, Im guessing you were asking about best hogs for the buck. I would tell new riders this. Just like my dad did with my first car. Get something else that is lower in value, pre dinged, affordable and still decent looking. Learn the ropes, get comfortable, learn the streets and bad habits car drivers have and how to avoid them. That way you can bang up your first ride a bit and then wehn ready step over to your local dealer and get the bike of your dreams. Who knows, you may end up with a HOG, Ridley, Victory or even something else. - Kent

What do you think of the Montesa 4RT 2006?

I agree...its like that. seriously...only TRUE bikers will help you out. because a true biker understandes the real meaning of "brotherhood". nowadays everyone with a scooter license or with a motorized bicycle calls himself a biker. a ******* disgrace.

led brake light not working twin filament lights ok but brake light does not work normal bulbs ok motorbike?

I have been a rider for some 30 years and found out real quick that Harley riders don't like "RICE GRINDERS". When I bought my first street bike (I did own dirt bikes in my teen years) a Suzuki GS1100EX I got nothing but Sh_t from a fellow employee at work, by the way was a "GANG MEMBER". Red (his nick name) and I go into many arguments. I did not take his crap I use to really piss him off (now I know how he got that nick name) and say things like...Do you know whey call'em "APE HANGERS"...Because you HOGs never take a bath and you need to air out your pits, Why was it called a "Knuckle Head"...Because that was the guy who designed that engine, Why do your bikes still come with a "KICK START"...Because it's a "DUEL PURPOSE ACCESSORIES"... a hammer for when your bike don't start, If my bike grinds rice ? why does your bike leak oil, Why do you ride in groups (HOG)...Because when you "BRAKE-DOWN" a handful needs to backtrack in hopes to find the parts that fell off your machine, then all of you need to pool your money together to replace those expensive HD parts, then the other handful needs to ride down the road to the dealership.

Who will be Factory Yamahas title sponsor next season?

Now I know why Harley riders don't like riding around with rice grinders...because of the inconvenience if we need to retrieve those parts when they brake-down.

Why does my little kawasaki ninja 250 set off car alarms?

I want to buy a 2-wheeler..I'm confused between Bajaj Wave and Scooty pep plus.Owners please help?

Don't take that as the concensise of a whole group. I've had a Harley for a few years and love it. I found most Harley riders extremely helpful and respectful. Most gave me hugs and welcomed me to the family when I bought it. On sites like this you get people who disrespect and bash Harleys riders and stereotype. So I think a lot of times a defense mechinism jumps up right away. But you'll have a few a-holes like you experienced. I asked a Harley question once and the Harley owners answered my question but I got a few people bashing me. I basically will ride with anyone who loves to ride regardless of what they ride. All the Harley owners I know are the same way. We just gotta live with stereotypes and it can be frustrating sometimes.

looking for service manual for kawasaki KVF 750,to download for free?

I don't know what you asked, since you removed the question...but make sure it's a 1/2 way intelligent question. Some answerers are just smart alecks but some questioners ask really stupid questions! Make sure you are not the latter and have a sense of humor. I rode a Yamaha and constantly got razzed by my best friends who rode Harleys. It's like playing the dozens. If they razz you instead of cuss ya than you're ok.

why is there never tarmac in a petrol station?

Is the LML NV currently sold in Bangalore at LML showrooms?

oh yeah by the way here is the reason why I like shaun more than LT

why can't they make harley davidson trucks?

the reason i think he is better becasue i think power runners are better than runners that average in their position like LT but shaun can power the people that tackle him and he is a type of running back that is kind of fast but i admit that LT is faster. Another factor is that LT could not handle the fact that they lost to the patriots and he dosent really accept the loss and the fact that all the Patriots coppied the Shaun Merriman taunt

bike keeps cutting out?

Its not just Harley riders there are a lot of smart asses out there who do nothing but hassle people or give ridiculous answers, they are just bored little people with nothing better to do , they piss me off too!
