On a '71 DT 250, what color wire goes to the ingnition coil from the stator?
The first answer is correct Its caused by a drop in back pressure, An aftermarket can will ever so slightly alter the carburation on your bike. Im presuming it only cuts out when Idling..If this is the case its just a matter of adjusting the tickover screw, It shouldnt be hard to locate, look around the carbs for an adjuster and turn it clockwise a turn then start the bike & fine adjust it until you get a tickover of about 1200 RPM. is it stalling on tickover , or normal use ?If your engine management is computorised , you may need to have it re-mapped for the different exhaust. Don`t forget , when triumph designed the pipes , the mapping was to suit.
I also ride a triumph , a 955i daytona , and just recently fitted a very expensive under-seat exhaust system which although very loud , is supposed to be road legal. The manufacturer recommends re-mapping , but after using it for 2 w/ends, I`m not in a rush as yet because it feels ok so far. But. my mate runs an o6 daytona , one of the very last built , and he tells me today that his bike cut out twice a couple of days ago .Guess what , we both bought the exhaust systems the same time too.
So it just may be needing re-mapping. By the way , he owned a TT600 a few years ago also. best of luck.
