PROS: Cheaper than a "real" crotch rocket by a couple thousand $$$, easier to ride, takes a GSX-R750 off the line, great V-twin torque makes it easy to carry a passenger. Cheap to maintain & service without a fairing in the way, you can get 8,000+ miles on the stock Dunlop D220's, and the "cult" status of the bike makes for tons of aftermarket parts and good resale value. Liquid cooling and fuel injection means it starts every time and won't overheat in traffic, and can get over 50mpg. Classed as a "sport tourer" by most insurance companies, making them cheap to cover.Original or copy of all papers is require to keep with motorcycle in India?
CONS: The forks are cheap damper-rod models that are harsh over small bumps and wallowy over larger ones (just the opposite of what you want). Invest the $160 in cartridge emulators for the forks to get REAL feedback from the front wheel. The stock Dunlops handle OK, but aren't very grippy at all.
If you had a choice of any motorbike to own, what would you get?
My first bike was an '03 SVS (the first year they put fuel injection on them), and overall I think it's a really fantastic little bike. Sure, it has some shortcomings, but they can be fixed relatively cheap and you can do practically everything from simple commuting to light touring to racing on them. Highly recommended!

This is pretty much a Standard bike, so if you want a race replica or a cruiser, this isn't it.
Your friends with race replicas will beat you when you race.
Your friends with cruisers will think they look cooler.
