the buell's to me look more streamlined, and cost effecient. my boss just got 1, and he said that it rode and handled great. doesnt have all that exorbantely expensive plastic on it either. betcha 2-1 that if u were to drop a duc in the parking lot, there's gonna be alot of plastic that's gonna take a severe beating.

Probably the ducati. The duc looks good, performs pretty well, and is a unique bike. But i've heard of so many people having problems with them. you might not want to get a bike that requires thousands of dollars in service after each and every ride.The buells look fugly in my opinion, and even the biggest buell is slow and lacks power compared to most popular japanese bikes.

I would take a duck any day of the week over any other bike. You just don't see that many of them on the road compared to all of the other bikes.Well, depends on what you want. I own a Buell XB9s and I love it, it's alot of fun to ride. BUT, a Duc is a $15k precision Italian, race inspired machine. The Ducati Monster is much more comparable to the Buell XB series than any of it's race inspired bikes like the 996 0r 999. Ducatis are a Ferrari, a Buell is more like a 70's muscle car answer to the same question. The Buell is no dog, I have blown away many jap bikes at street lights with my Buell. It's torquey, fast and handles well, but as for top end? It's just not designed for that in it's stock configuration. All in all, the Buell gives you more bang for your buck, IMHO. You can get into a Buell for about half the cost of a Ducati. But if you have the cheese to drop on one the Ducati IS most defiantely a better bike. How much better for the money is a matter of opinion. My 2cents

Ducati, without hesitation! Why? Italian craftsmanship, aesthetics, and quality for starters. Better handling and a faster bike if you want more reasons. Ducatis (like EVERYTHING Italian) were built to race first and sell to the public later, and their racing heritage goes back decades. They have won AMA races, seven World Superbike championships, numerous Moto GP titles, etc. What has Buell done but drop out of the only race they entered?If you could pick someone to be your spouse, would it be an ugly, temperamental, overweight person or someone with beauty AND brains that responded to your every thought? Ducati, of course!

They both make good liter bikes (1000 cc) and they have that distinct Italian look but the 4 Japanese make better bike, especially bang for the buck.What are the advantages of the Las Vegas Trike vs others?
Ducati, it looks betterBoth are great bikes in their own right. The Duc will be more maintenance oriented than a Buell and will have fewer parts and service support. The Duc has a long history on its resume, While the Buell has a much shorter history with the exception of the H-D influence.
Own an older Buell. It's a very reliable scooter, and fast out of the box. The scooter looks good, handles really well and has whipped the snoot from more then a few rice-rockets. The Ducati, at least in my area, is hard to get service (authorized) done, and part never seem to be in-stock. That alone sets me off; the season is short in Michigan as it is and being down due to lack of parts is a grinder.
My Buell is one of those 'Limited Edition' , #403, X-1 Lightening, red with white stripe. Only one other I've seen around here, that added to it's mystic. When the crotch-rockets see it in their mirrors, they move to the side...it has a reputation.
