Who told you that? Its perfectly OK for you to warm your bike using the kickstand. Its not used just to hold the bike up! I've been riding for 4 years now and the bike hasn't shown any differences in warming up via kickstand/rear stand of any sort and rides fine as ever!I hope the person telling you that aren't trying to sell you into thinking your bike needs it.

How else will you warm it up? Are you gonna stand there and hold it up yourself? Or are you saying in comparison to being on a center stand? Either way, the bike will run just fine on the kickstand.
