came home from work plannin on takin a little 20 mile putt, and the battery appeared to be dead since the starter wouldnt turn it over. so far the charger has been on for about 2-3 hours, and the starter still wont even try to crank it. headlights and panel lights work tho. starter does a single click, and nothing else. battery is about a year and a half old.

couple things.1. how old is the battery and has it sat thru the winter uncharged? if it is older and has sat in storage, it may be sulfated and needs a new one. try pulling it out and load testing it.

2. while cranking it, place a voltmeter across the + and -. it should not drop below 9.6 volts. if it does, battery is likely shot. if it doesn't change at all from 12.6 v, then check grounds and hot connections.

tag it and bag it. its toast if u leave it on for longer than that and nothing changes. mc batteries wouldnt need as long of charging time as car batteries. i suggest next winter, take the battery out and keep it in the house. once they wind up exposed to a severe cold snap, they bye bye bud.More Questions & Answers ...
