stupid question but damnit WHY is it that it seems every old guy owns a harley and every young guy owns a damn sports bike but theres no women in the front seat of the two I just got my motorcycle endorsement and cant afford the harley ;) but I definently wanta cruiser am i going to be riding solo where are the REAL biker b-tches the ones in the front who are not nec butchy not nec 'rebellious' any friggin chick with love for the ride? We need a movie or ad to promote women riders who arent hussies or manly just women..

My theory is that girls and women aren't encouraged to ride; and therefore, most women don't even think about it as a possibility.
Most biker images in movies and TV are of the guy riding and the lady as passenger. (Similar to the guy always drives the car and the woman is the passenger.) Also, most of the advertising is aimed at guys. Most articles in the magazines make no doubt that they are written to the boys by including only masculine pronouns and referring to one's wife or girlfriend and having a big boobed thong clad hottie sitting on the bikes in the photos.

As for finding a group of ladies to ride with... most major cities have them. Yep, there are some manly looking lady bikers out there. Most of them are big teddy bears if you got to know them. These groups in the big cities are full of regular looking ladies as well.

Lots of women ride Harley's. In fact, my neighbor just broke her leg on a Sportster when she accidentally got too close to her significant other's Road King. She's no "butch" biker lady; just a nice Grandmother who happens to like bikes...Where can i go to get alloy wheels chromed in the north west?

Best place to look is with biker groups such as the local riding clubs set up by the biker dealerships in your area.. HOG is the biggest one in the states, but it's a Harley only group... There are other more local groups that usually have women riders who's husbands/boyfriends own bikes or just they themselves want to feel the open wind. Cruiser Bike fans are most likely to see this.
Contact the local bike shops in your area dealing with cruisers (such as the honda,yamaha,suzuki,etc) and ask them about the women riders.. There are some groups in bigger cities that actually cater only to women riders.
What's the REAL question? Why can't you afford a Harley? I don't know, set up a budget to save for one. In the mean time do what everyone does that can't afford their "dream bike"; fantasize about riding the dream bike while you save, and ride what you can afford.

Personally, I don't know of anything sexier than a woman who can handle a bike. I own a Harley, and there are a lot of women who ride Harley's, in the front seat. OK, so, you can't afford a new bike, but if you go to the Harley website, and look at their classifieds, there are a bunch of used bikes for sale, all at dealerships, or you can go to Ride.(State).com. Place the state that you live in, in the ( ) and there are a bunch of bikes. You might also look on the Harley site for the women's section. There are a bunch of women riders, some in the military, others not, and they all tell their personal stories. It's in the riders section, no pass word needed. Good luck and ride safe.
I know quite a few woman riders. Some are like you, where they can't afford their Harley yet, but it's their plan. I think it's cool, I got my Harley and I have no problem with a woman riding one. Its not like that where I live. Women ride every kind of bike and are treated with respect. 10% of new bike sales are to women.My woman rides her own, as well as behind me. I have a few woman friends who ride behind me and some that ride their own.. None of them are "biker b!tches". That's an unfortunate term that sounds more like pop ghetto slang than something coming out of the mouth of a real rider.
Contact your local "Harley Owner's Group", they have a division called "Ladies of Harley" these are Women who ride their own bikes or ride with their husbands or boyfriends. Tell them you want to purchase a Harley, you will find that owning a Harley is not as expensive as you think. You can buy used alot cheaper than new. Motorcycle dealerships don't do well with negotiating prices especially this time of the year. If you can wait, your best deals will come at the end of the riding season when riding slows down and sales drop. This is between Oct-Dec. and is also the time the dealers mark down older bikes to make room for the newer models. It is also during this time the bikers trade in their bikes for newer and you get better deals on used models.Used bikes are often bought for less than blue book value and marked up above the blue book value to give the dealer negotiating power. These bikes are the ones you can get the dealer to work on your terms. The other thing to do is buy from a car dealership that also sells motorcycles, they mainly sell cars so they are more flexible in dealing with their prices. Beside this, they want to break into the bike sales business and want your referral. They also have their bikes on consignment so it costs them more to keep them on their floor. They also have more financing options to deal with, so the easier chance of getting approved. Some of these women even ride other bikes beside a Harley, they are members because their husbands own a Harley.
