Question:
I'm looking to get a bike with a salvage title (good way to save some money because most bikes are considered totaled with a little bit of rash on the fairings).
So, where do you buy a salvage bike in Texas? auction, salvage yard, etc.
Answers:
I would search under yahoo/google under "Texas Salvage Motorcycle".
I would try not to bite off more than you can chew when considering these motorcycles, unless you intend on buying parts. If the frame is bent, you will need to buy a new one, unless you think you can straighten it. This can be quite a task; a friend did this with a Yamaha V star 1100 but only by building a rig out of heavy lumber, and using heavy come-alongs and a laser level to gauge the straightness of the frame. It was a bear, and he has sworn never again. lol
Look for bikes with cosmetic problems: smashed tank, bent fenders, ect. You might find you can find these parts on Ebay and be very happy.
Good luck!
Can I get some info on the Yamaha V Star 650 Classic?
go to local.yahoo.com. Type in "Cycle Salvage" and put your zipcode in the next box. Press enter and pick up your telephone.Every now and then you can find one of Ebay. Maybe your insurance agent could help you find out where the insurers sell the salvaged bikes.
Motercycle aeriel arrow colt 200cc any info?
Another choice would be to look at cycletrader.com. I've seen some in there too.To find salvage titled bikes there is not 1 location. They are sold just like all other bikes.
Has anybody got an Italjet Formula 125cc liquid cooled?
You can check local messgae boards, craigslist, and cycle trader and local shops.
I would recommend you take it to a qualified mechanic to make sure the bike is straight before I touched a salvage. It is easy to bend the frames running into stuff on sport bikes.
