I have a 1994 Harley FXDL. I installed a fully charged battery, and bike won't start. Need cables? Fuses?

Question:
The bike was running fine before battery replacement. The old battery was about 4 years old and needed replacing. The manual says there are no fuses for my bike. The battery cables look fine but are 13 years old. If you suggest replacement of cables, can I do myself without too much difficulty? I like to ride, not repair!

If it worked before, and not now, it's apparent the problem is related to the installation. Make sure +is to + and - is to - make sure the battery is good ,either with a meter or hook up a 12v light to it. Make sure your battery cables are in full contact with the battery posts. *** BE SURE THE HOT WIRE TO YOUR BREAKER PANEL IS CONNECTED***(usually red from + terminal to breakers) or you will have no power to the system.

Clean the cables, check the battery. Make sure you connected ALL the wires correctly.

charging system dohc cb 750?

There are only 2 major elements for a engine to run...spark and air/fuel mixture. Sounds like you are missing the spark part of the equation. As already suggested I would double check your work and also make sure the battery you installed is charged...most new batteries are shipped without the acid/water mixture installed. Once you pour them in the battery has to be fully charged up on a charger prior to installation. Also...buy yourself a Battery Tender! This little gem has a pigtail you install on the battery and then simply plug it into the charger when your steed will be sitting awhile. I swear by them...I have them on all my bikes and even my lawn tractor.

Does anyone have any impressions or opinions on the ZX750 Ninja motorcycle (produced 87' through 89')?

If it was starting with the old battery and everything is hooked up correctly and the new battery is fully charged, then I would have a load test done on the new battery. I know it sounds crazy but that new battery might have something wrong with it. At least this will verify that the new battery is fine.

do you live the biker lifestyle?

not tryin to be a comedian but....check the kill switch...i've actually had it off, then make sure the fuel valve is open. cant count how many times i've done that after a winter lay-off. last resort, u just might have put the battery in wrong. chit could happen yanno. if the cables have corrosion on them, clean em. the 'hot' might have an in-line fuse on the hot wire...and the keyword here is 'might'. my bike does.
btw, if the light work, u mighta had the fuel or kill switch off. i would think about replacing the cables tho. if they short out, they could leave u stranded in the middle of nowheresville.

I have a Honda CBR600F4i..The FI light keeps coming on and my bike keeps cutting off.?

I know this sounds strange but was the battery serviced before instalation. Some batteries are dry when shipped and have to have acid added and then charged for sometime. Just a thought
