There are a number of elements involved
1) fork leg with caliper mount
2) master cylinder and brake lever assembly
3) caliper and brake line
4) new front wheel and rotor or re-lace front wheel with a hub that will accept a rotor.
5) The assembly of the above and wheel to caliper alignment.

Disc is by far a better brake, but you'll have to price the parts yourself and decide if you will do the work or hire someone?

My 1988 Honda CR 125 dirtbike needs an engine. Does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price?

Just eyeballing the parts list looks like $750- $900 or so.

I'm looking for a super fuel efficient motorcycle. I've never ridden before. I'm 5'10" and 350lb. Help?

As an afterthought it occurs to me, If there is a model similar to your bike that has a disc front end you may be able to change out an entire front end, maybe you could find used/salvage parts at a resonable price.

Harley-Davidson?

Yeah its way worth it. Drum brakes don't have the stopping power as disc brakes. When you ask how much this could cost it really depends on much you want to spend. You can go high end and pay up to 3,000 just for brakes, or as little as 200 dollars if you look in the right places. The high end stuff is for racing, but if your just going to be doing normal to a little racing then a standard disk brake should do. Now buying the parts is one thing but having it installed is another. Probably all said and done it will cost you about 500 bucks to 1,000 out the door. If you going to be using this 125cc HH glamour alot then its worth the cost.

For that size bike, drum brakes aren't that much of a liability. But, it you'r heart's really set on it, watch Ebay for someone selling a complete fork/front wheel assembly from an older 100-250cc streetbike (with a disk brake!). You might just be abe to swap out the whole front end for a few bills.

At a time when you need to overhaul the breaks, compare the stopping distances and then decide, if it is a light bike and if you are and the rider are under weight then it may not be worth spending the deference.

Motorbikes, why do people pull stunts on them??

yes front disc brakes are definitely better in a bike... you can incur a cost anything between 5000-7000 rs. depending on the quality of components you choose.. .go for original HH parts as they are the best in quality... and last much much longer.. .e.g. a disc pad of CBZ lasts for around 20000 kms.. where as that of pulsar's wear out before 10000.
