Motorcycle engines and high RPM's?
You would be surprised about how much your local radiator shop is extremly good at cleaning and coating radiators and gas tanks. Give em a call.If you value your tank (and paint job) you'll go to a bike shop.I would suggest a custom bike builder as they are used to coating tanks .The ' tankcoat' is messy sticky stuff. You can buy 'tankcoat and prep' from a catalog like J+P and do it yourself.
If you do it yourself make sure you follow the instructions. It is a real pain in the ***. The radiator shop suggestion is good, especially if you can find one that has bike tank experience.
There used to be a place in PA, try www.elizabethradiator.com you have to drain, clean, dry, and box it for shipping, but, as I remember I think it was cheaper than doing it yourself. some home products are "Kreem" and a supposedly better one is "Por 15" shop around a little for the best deal.
where can i find vintage aftermarket racing parts for my two dirtbikes?
your local dirt bike shop should sell the coating for the inside of the tank. to clean the inside i use dish soap and water, then flush ,then put a handfull of sand and small pebbles ,cap it ,and start shaking lightly and allow the grit to remove the rust and crud .flush well and dry .be sure and remove all grit .and a fuel filter should be used when finished after you coat the inside.how do u make a motorbike helmet like wat are the instructions?
another suggestion would be to go to a small airport and talk to maintenance shop if they do not clean tanks themselves they know who does. a friend of mine had his tanks done that way and was impressed, i was told the process they use is gentler than a radiator shopMore Questions & Answers ...
