Question:
it feels like and sounds like it is slowing down, i took off the air bow cleaned it out and out it bike on the bike thinking it was that, but its not, there is oil in it, and its a 4 stoke engine and theres 4 stroke oil in it , so how do i find out what is wrong with it myself??

sounds like your losing compression , look for oil on your engine , you might get away with just changing the head gasket but it hasn't blown for no reason , take of your exhaust and check to see if some joker has put anything in there , oh and by the way if there is anything inside the exhaust or the manifold that is supposed to be there but reduces the flow of exhaust gases then remove it with a hacksaw because this is how many small cc bikes are power restricted , if your engine is clean it's possible the jets in your carb are blocked thus denying the engine enough petrol to produce any power , take it out and clean it job done , again while your in there look for anything that looks like it might hinder the workings of the carb because power restriction is often done by preventing the carb from working at full capacity it's usually just a washer or a screw that needs removing .good luck take photos if you can so it's easier to put back together .

You could be losing compression from the gasket. if its not making funny noises it could be the belt drive/gears are not shifting properly. unfortunately you might need to send it in to a mechanic. a full service should only cost about £160.Hi, The scooter must be restricted, if it is you will need to speak with someone in the known who can remove the restricter, it won't cost much.

Hi - it sounds like its been restricted by a previous owner, something that needs to be done for people who dont have a full licence. Your local bike shop should be able to help outwhich would be best 125cc bike to commute in london on all weather?
if you want to fix it yourself then look for a haynes manual for your type of scooter so you can keep the costs down. In the back of the book theres a trouble shooting section which should help you diagnose a problem yourself. Thats what happens round here and it drives me nuts!.....the funniest thing is my power wheelchair has more go than some of the hairdryers going up and down the road lol

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer. Also in your case, the mileage would have been helpful.When was it last serviced? It might need something as simple as a valve adjustment. Here's a shop manual -

If it is restricted , there is usually a washer installed [on the older models i know] at the head of the exaust, remove the exaust and remove the washer in the exaust port. The smaller hole in the washer doesn't let all the exaust out of the motor and therefore restrics the power.learning to ride a mototcycle.?
Where to start!You bike isn't restricted beacuse its a 125 and under 33hp which means you can drive on a provisional licence. Like the previous bloke said, you could be losing compression. Maybe the exhaust manifold is loose from the cylinder head. Is the Bike Load? If so then you def have a prob with the exhaust which will slow the bike down.

Is the accleration poor? If so this could be reed petals. These are little valves that allow the fuel on way but not the other. if they wear down then the mixture of the pertol will not be sufficient. Also you have Rollers within the crank case. These are basically little round plastic things! that cause the bikes belt to stengthen and loosen hence giving you automatic gears like a pedal bike would with a thumb change. These usually get changed about every 2,000 miles.

The best thing for you to do is take it to a shop. Unless your like me and attemp to fix it then **** it up, then have a go. I learnt everything from my 125 Gilera Runner. Best thing in the world. No i pretty much know everthing. Mines was a 2 stroke (better then 4) with a 172 mallossi big bore,mallossi race crank,mallossi variator,mallossi air filter,polini belt,polini bush kit,bigger jets and many other stuff. Had 92mph out of it on a flat road. Beat every car off the lights (almost) Best days of my life. Now i have a car and hate the kids on peds!

it is possible the bike is restricted, if this is so for a small fee most motorcycle mechanics can de restrict it for you, by way of removing small washers located in the exhaust and carburettor. take it to a bike shop and enquire most shops will advise you for free.
