Question:
I'm going to be purchasing a Triumph Scrambler, which does not have a fuel gauge. What is a good add-on fuel gauge for this bike?
Answers:
If a motorcycle says manufactured 8/79, is it a 1979 or a 1980?
I do not believe I have ever seen a gauge available, however, new stuff comes out all the time. I just reset the trip meter each time I refill, that way all I have to do is look at the mileage and I know how far I have before it goes on reserve, which is probably more accurate than a fuel gauge.Check out www.bellacorse.com and www.newbonneville.com
they have lots of Bonneville stuff.
What happen if my bike will run on very lean mixture of petrol.?
What the heck do you need a fuel gauge for?In order to add a fuel guage, you'd first need to have a fuel level sending unit inside the tank to tell the guauge what the level is.
Where can I get a good, sturdy sidestand plate, good for 850 lbs?
The only modern day Triumphs with fuel guauges are the Rocket III and Trophy (ended in 2003).
WHO is the best BIKE builders O.C.C or WHAT!?
You could probably purchase a sending unit for a Trophy from your Triumph dealer (big bucks) or find one on eBay (usually sold with the tank). But installing it would be really tough.
Which is the fastest production motor cycle?
You've chosen a GREAT bike to buy...just guestimate the fuel level and use the reserve switch to get you to the nearest gas station when it starts to sputter.
cdi units on the cb250 and cb400 superdfeam?
On the Scrambler you need to just run a tank of gas through until you hit reserve. Then reset your odometer and remember that you went, say, 150 miles (example, I don't know what the range is), and next time you get close to that figure...get gas!Only the fuel injected models have gas gauges.
BTW, Welcome to Triumph ownership, they are awesome bikes.
