easy to do job. get a shop manual for it, and u'll see how easy it is. like 1 guy said, u might want to also replace the sprockets, especially if they look worn. nothing worse than being on the side of the road with a busted sprocket.for the price of a manual, it would probably be on par with about 1 hour of shop time.and it might take em a couple hours at least to do the job.

I personally recommend using an endless chain. They cost a bit more, sometimes double the cost of a master linked chain. However, endless chains last almost double the miles and take much more abuse.

Master-linked chains have the weakest point at the master-link. Every master-linked chain I had failed at the master-link. After happening twice to me, I always bought an endless chain after that.

Installing an endless chain is also easier. Just put the bike on its center-stand and disconnect the swing-arm. Feed in the chain and reconnect the swing-arm. It's a piece of cake.
Oh yeah, always replace sprockets with a new chain, especially the rear sprocket. The front sprocket can go longer, maybe every two chain replacements. Front sprockets can be a real beach to remove, but that's another question.
