seat position plays a part in how comfortable the ride is, and crotch rockets by designed isnt a very comfortable bike on very long rides; 150 miles and up in 1 sitting. cruisers can easily do 4 to 500 miles a day.convertible's still wont get nearly the same mileage that even the heaviest cruiser can get, isnt nearly as manuverable either. the weight of a cruiser soaks up the bumps, and the suspension of a cruiser is more suited for long rides than flickin like a razor on twisty roads.
u dont particularly need a dresser to enjoy a long cruise. i've easily rode 400 miles in a day and all i have is a 'lowly' sportster.
insurance, fun factor, and fuel costs is the deciding factor. 4 wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul.

I love my my gsxr600, but to be honest, I would be a little stiff after 200 miles. Been there, done that. One of my riding partners has a Vulcan that is very comfortable. He is still ready to ride when the trip is over. Plus, they have the added option of a comfortable passenger during the ride. Well, IF you have a motorcycle, you obviously didn't grow up around them and apparently bought one to try to be cool. I grew up around them and have owned Japanese sport bikes, and now have a Harley. I would love to buy a ZX-11 as a 2nd bike because I've always loved them, too. The Harley has a different mood and style. The point is, they all have two wheels and we're all equal, and we need to stick together because everyone else is against us. My dad taught me that at a young age, and I respect anyone on two wheels and I ride with everybody. IF you are a real motorcyclist, you need to start doing the same. I'm guessing from your question that you're not, and probably never will be! I'm guessing your GSXR has WAY more suspension than you'll ever be able to use just like most people, but you think you're the next Kevin Schwantz (if you even know who that is).
