Question:
What size bike is too big? 500cc, 700cc, 1500cc, 2000cc etc,,,? I am looking for a balance between speed and gas consumption. I want fast, but not too fast. Also, what is a good motorcycle to buy? Anyone selling?

Longer look without rake on H-D sportster?

best would be a 750cc cruiser. can easily cruise for about 155 miles give or take depending on how hard u twist the wick, and a 1200 sportster will get roughly the same mileage. keep in mind this is for a stock set up.not a stage 1. a cruiser will be more than fast enough for u to handle. a sport bike like the 1st dude said can easily run away from u. the bigger the cruiser, the smoother the ride. also keep in mind that, water cooled engines will have more power than an air cooled engine of the same cc size. crotch rockets are also alot lighter in weight than any cruiser, and that is just 1 of the reasons why they are so fast.

I won a Honda shadow Bike it had done 2000 kilometers. I am new to bike, I am learning how to ride.My question

My vote is for the Suzuki SV-650. Best all around middle weight out there. It's so good the Koreans are duplicating it.

Tm motorcycles?

Virtually any of the 500-700cc motorcycles for the big three are good. Now you have to decide on sport or touring. Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki make good bikes and you just have to go look at them, decide which one you like the best and can afford.
Wear a helmet! Spend the money ($200-$400) on a good helmet, it is the cheapest insurance you can purchase. A bee hitting your head at 65mph can literally knock you off the bike. Think what a small rock would do.

Yamaha Moto 4?

if u plan on doing alot of long distance riding, the bigger the bike, the smoother the ride. metric's are cheaper than harley's, but if it goes from point a to b and back again, any bike would work. i find that my mileage increases with the windshield on than without. i ride a 1200 sportster, and i get typically low to mid 50 mpg.

Sticky throttle problem on Bandit 600?

if u do plan on riding over 150 miles at a clip, the worst bike u could get is a crotch rocket. they're not comfy over 80 miles in a sitting.

Will i need to buy a power commander if i buy a scorpian exhaust for my GSX-R600 K6?

All of the answers are good ones. if you are concerned about gas mileage and are not taking 200 mile or more trips all the time 750 cc bikes are pretty perfect. fast nimble not too heavy to push out of garages or off a patio in the back yard. Still small enough that you will want to hop on it for those small trips around town
All of the jap midsized cruisers would be good .Is that Suzuki 650 a twin ? if it is what I think it is it should be a really fun bike not a crotch rocket. Too much temptation on a crotch rocket You don"t need to be inexperienced trying to get 180 out of your 1200 cc crotch rocket. We read about those guys in the obituaries every summer better to cruise and enjoy yourself

Where can i find alpinestar mx racing gear (paints and jersey)?

I have a Yamaha 650 V-Star Classic, its a cruiser, gets an average of 50 MPG. I'm a relatively large guy and it gets me around great. It has a fair amount of chrome and style. Had it for over a year now and enjoy it alot.

Insuring off road bikes?

My rule of thumb for a first bike is under 50 hp, which can be a very different engine size depending on if it's a sport bike (where a 600 cc bike can have 100 hp), cruiser, or other category. And it should be light enough that you can pick it up if it falls over.

Used starter bike: 1996 Honda Shadow 600cc VLX or 2006 Suzuki Boulevard 650cc S40?

If you have some experience, you probably already will have some idea if your current bike is too big or too small for your taste.

What are the laws to do with carrying a passenger on a motorbike in the UK?

Me, I ride a GS500F. It's more than fast enough for highway traffic, forgiving enough for a rider just out of riding class, and gets 60 miles to the gallon.

I am riding a motorbike again after a few years..i am slow and my gearchanging is shot to h***..hoho..where..?

Find a middle weight in the 450-650 cc range. All the Big Four manufacturers make good bikes. I prefer Honda.

What is your favorite pre-unit bike?

I love my Kawi 800 Vulcan Classic. Put some big pipes on for sound, change your carb, at some blowers and it sounds great. Has great bottom end and lots of power all the way through but it tops out at about 140 kms. Snappy little bike.

Need some help from guys please?

I have had great success w/ my Honda Shadow VLX 600. Any of the bigger size Honda Shadow's would be a great bike also.
