Stick with the honda's. the build quality and practicality is top notch ... . the aprilia RS 250 is a seriously sharp track weapon... very impractical for the road... especially if your fairly new to biking... very stiff set up... uncomfortable at low speed (weight on the wrists)... wafer thin power band (all or nothing) and you'll be forever trapping your thumbs against the tank on any sort of lock. It will need the very best synthetic oil and careful maintianence... even then it'll need a re-build at 10,000mls ... thats if the british weather doesn't destroy it 1st... looks gorgeous and is very very good on a track though...But hey it's your money and be sure to buy whatever you want no matter what anybody says . there's plenty of time for sensible and practical later..

The Aprillia 250 RS is by far the best looking and fastest acceleration, top end and cornering. They are a two stroke engine with high carbon emiotance so they are not made anymore but if u can find an old one the are deffinetly the best bike. Either would be good. Honda have a reputation for reliability, at the cost of excitement; Yamaha tend more towards the fun side, although there's only so much you can do with a 250. If you can, see if your local dealers will let you have a test ride, and take it from there. DO NOT buy a Korean or Chinese bike; stick to Japanese for now. The Koreans and Chinese are catching up, but as yet they still have some way to go regarding build quality, parts availability and dealer back-up.suzuki gsf250 bandit.
great little bike - 45 horses of power-let me put this in perspective for you- the suzuki gs500f has only 50hp... so for a little bike it flies from a standstill.
dead cheap insurance. great on fuel- sips it.
and it tops out at around 100mph, so it has plenty of breath left in it for overtaking and getting yourself out of sticky situations.
and then theres the huge fanbase, some oppourtunities to upgrade, tune and customise are vast. and we actually have a shop in our city that specialises in Bandits...need i say more?
dont get a chinese bike- i had one recently and its just been scrapped. the engine melted on mine...and thats pretty s**t considering its only 6 months old and done under 2500mls.

I would stick with the Honda; they're tough as old boots, the engines are bulletproof, spares are relatively cheap and easy to get hold of and it should keep its resale value when you decide - and you will! - to get a bigger bike.What's the difference between 250cc/400cc/600cc Motorbikes?
