Question:
i have a mikuni hsr45 it is on a custom bike that i built it is bolted to a 110 revtech, my problem is about every 150-200 miles i am fouling out the plugs and i dont know why. i adjusted the air fuel mixture. i dont know if it is the jets or the accelorator pump or in the bowl. tha carb came out of california with a 175 jet and i live in ND. if anybody has any ideas let me know.
Answers:
It is not uncommon for the cable housing to hang up on the outside edge of that elbow and you cant see it because of the rubber boot.
In effect it causes the choke to be on partially all the time.
As far as jets , a 175 main is not very likely to cause fouling ,we run a 205 main on the Old Lady's bike on a 100" Rev Tech and I have a 215 in my HRS45 on a 121" T.P.
Why are guys such idiots about a female riding a motorbike?
Fouling caused by jetting would more likely be caused by a pilot jet.At 175 for the main the pilot should be a 25, 27.5 or at most a 30. Your fuel/air screw 1 1/2 to 2 turns out.
But seriously check that cable ,I've seen it at least a few times.
