Question:
I cannot remove the plug because there is not enough clearance between the drain plug and the exhaust. And the filter wont come out because there is not enough clearance there either. What am I missing here? It has aftermarket Yoshi pipes.

Normal stuff, Especially aftermarket pipes on Kawasakis...New speed cameras and Motorcycles?
You have to at least loosen, if not completely remove the exhaust. Part of the trade-off that comes with changing from stock pipes on some bikes.
Has Suzuki released the 2007 GSX-R1000 in your area yet?
Sometimes you can get away with just loosening the muffler bracket and bend the pipes out of the way. Remove the oil filter bolt while leaving the filter cover in place. It's gonna make a mess, but worth a try. Otherwise you'll have to loosen the header pipes.which produce more power and why, diesel engine or petrol engine?
1/15/07 - Bite the bullet and remove the entire exhaust system. If you've never changed the oil filter on that bike, it's the easiest way to go. Take note as to the order and direction the spring, washer, filter and metal cup go. Trying to re-install the oil filter, with the pipes partially blocking the oil filter hole, can be a major pain in the butt. Quit trying to save time. You'll just end up pulling your hair out. LOL
