Question:
I am looking for the cheapest parts, add-ons, etc. price wise. I also want to buy some really kick @$$ offroading wheels that will have awseome traction in sand and dirt and mud. Can someone tell me what a doohickey is and where to get one if I feel like I need it. Thanks.

Wheels are spendy. A KLR600 front is cheaper & will fit but needs a different brake rotor.
Do the Doo - ABSOLUTLY. There is plenty of documentation about this piss poor part. Look in: KLR.net, multisurfacemotorcycling.com, KLR World, advrider.com (in the Thumpers section), or contact Eagle Mike (he makes the replacement - only $40) I have done 6. 5 were bad.
