Looking for Aftermarket parts for a VTX1800F?

I have looked in a few places but am not finding much in the way of Aftermarket parts for my VTX1800F. I would like to find a new seat and sadle bags.

There is a plethora of aftermarket parts for your bike. One source is hondadirectline.com. I suggest you check out the VTXOA site (I believe it is VTXOA.com, but a google search on VTXOA would pull it up) - there is an incredible amount of information available there. I can understand your desire for a better seat, the stock Honda seat is an abomination, more akin to a medieval torture device than a motorcycle seat designed to be used for more than five minutes at a time. One of the most highly recommended aftermarket seat manufacturers for the VTX 1800 is Ultimate Seats - they offer several models, each of which is tailored to the size of the rider to significantly enhance his comfort. You can find a link to them at VTXOA. Also, Mustang and Corbin seats are available for your bike, but most seem to prefer the Ultimate Seats on the VTX. As to saddle bags, you don't need to get something that says it is made for the VTX. If you want leather bags (the easiest to install), get a set of bag guards designed for the VTX (offered by Honda, Cobra, Custom Chrome and other manufacturers), which will bolt to your rear fender struts, then look at a variety of saddle bags to decide on a set that suits you as to style and size. There are many manufacturers of them, most are a "throw over" design, with a leather yoke joining the two saddle bags, which you install over the rear fender, beneath the pillion seat, and you tie the bags to the bag guards (there to keep the bags from getting into the rear wheel, and to keep the bags from flying out from the bike in turns and over bumps). If you want individual leather bags on each side without the throw-over yoke, they are also available, and you will need, instead of the bag guards, a quick-detach mounting kit which also installs on your fender struts, using existing bolt holes. There are two primary manufacturers of such brackets, Ghost Brackets and another, but similar, unit (sorry, the name escapes me just now). If you desire hard bags, there are several styles available from a firm by the name of Tsukayu at a relatively reasonable price, Corbin manufactures their Beetle Bags for the VTX (rather pricey, but nice), and Harley hard bags can be adapted. There are other firms that offer a lot of different parts for the VTX. I researched them quite extensively a couple of years ago, when I came within a stone's throw of buying a VTX-1800C (great bike, I knew the owner of the dealership, we came to an agreement, but the next morning, a salesman - who I had never talked to - managed to insert himself in the deal, and the previously agreed-to price inexplicably increased over $1,000, so I walked away - I did ride over there on my new Harley E-Glide, though, just so they'd know they really did lose a sale). Hope this helps. I know you're enjoying the VTX (except for that horrible seat).
