Is a 2002 Suzuki katana 750 motorcycle a good bike to buy.?

It is all black with a few scratchs. It cost $3,500 and has 12,000 miles. I want to know if this is better than a kawaski 750.

It depends on what you want to do with it. It's not a good choice for a first time rider, as a beginner is likely to find it powerful and unforgiving. While if you're an experienced rider and a real speed demon, you may not find it fast enough, as it's not an all out performance bike as, say, a GSXR-750.

What the Katana does well is that it's a sporty but reasonably comfortable bike for a rider with some good, solid riding experience. If that sounds like what you're after, it may be a good choice.

Has anyone out there bought a 2007 Triumph Tiger?

Katanas are supposed to be pretty heavy, both in terms of weight and handling... i've heard that handling and power is worse than on a gsxr/cbr/r6, also they are a little lacking in the looks dept. My friend started on a beat up katana and he said it was a good beginner bike... but he sold it after a month and got a SV650.

You can drop an early model GSX-R1100 motor into it without too much trouble(140+bhp) or the later 1200 Bandit engine.(about 100bhp, lots of torque)
