the ignition coil produces the spark at the plug.CDI means capacitive discharge ignition.
I'm not sure about source coil, probably the same as ignition.
pulsar coil is the trigger that tells the ignition when to fire and it usually is set off by a small magnet on the flywheel
the ignition coil can be found at the other end of your spark plug wire usually under the gas tank.
the cdi unit is often under the seat.
and the pulsar or trigger coil will be under the engine sidecover on the flywheel side

I dropped my bike and it wouldn't start, I thought for sure it was electrical. It turned out that my valves were completely out of whack. I have CDI as well, but that wasn't the problem. The shop manual basically said there is nothing to adjust or fix, if it goes bad just replace it. At any rate, you don't say what kind of bike it is, but mine was a kickstart honda thumper. The valves and the compression relief valve were totally out of spec. As soon as I lashed them and adjusted the compression relief the bike was fine. It was really confusing because it seemed to start after I dropped it, but hey, works fine now.I am stuck, confused, very much in dilemma, which one is better, pulsar 150 or apache, discover 125?
