How much do you weight. You high is not a big factor yet but if your larger you may want something with a little more CC. 250 is a really nice jump in power. i would try and get a 300 if your a serious rider and like to really kick it up...don't get one at all..they are obnoxious and dangerous. Plus, they are stupid.

go for a 250, any of the newer 4 strokes will be enough for you.if you like Yamaha go for the yzf but any of the jap 250's will keep you busy, with more experience and skill then step up to a 450. but don't go to big to fast learn to ride to the limit of the bike your on then move up. and remember have fun..Where can I find a fuel tank for a 1982 suzuki gs 1100?

I assume you are aware that unlike your current TTR play bike,the RFS (racing four strokes) are extremely high maintenance machines that require constant attention and adjustments. You probably already know all about adjusting valves, especially the shim under bucket style. You've probably got plenty of experience changing the oil and filters after each and every ride, as well as cleaning the air filter, checking cam chain tension and keeping up with compression numbers.

Well since we aren't all man enough to handle a KLR650 like Denny P (and we all know what an awesome MX bike that is), I would suggest the CRF150R with the 14" rear wheel for your height. Going to a 250F from a TT-R125 is not only a huge step, but those bikes are just too tall for you right now. As far as the comment about 4 stroke race bikes being high maintenance, all MX bikes are high maintenance. The only extra thing to be concerned with on a 4 stroke is having the valves checked periodically. People blow the whole 4 stroke maintenance thing way out of proportion.Ever heard of dynojet power commander?
