You might consider putting plastic rain gear on OVER your rain suit if you're going long distance. I only had to ride in the rain a long distance once, and it was like being on a Sea-Doo with speed boats all around. There was an inch of water on the road. I don't envy you!

I guess I am too old school. I wear my leathers as rain gear. I keep them oiled well and always in good shape even if they do look like they have seen better days before a war. Since I can not stand face shields I have a custom made leather conch that covers my face (one tail tucks in my coat the other hangs out to shed water). My sister spent the better part of $300 for a rain suit at the H-D dealer and wore it twice in rain before she went back to leathers.
This set up has worked for me for many years. I have rode in light rains for as long as 8 hours, and in heavy rain for as long as two hours. If the rain stays heavy I usually find a dry place to hold up until the worst has past.

Anything with 'GorTex' trademark. They are pricey, but well worth it in the rain. Started using them while in the military and still use it to this day.There is not such thing as 'waterproof', it's all water resistant. Water always wins, it's just a question of how long it take to penetrate.
