Question:
I ride a Vespa, which is loads of fun, but not so nice on my hair. Can anyone suggest a good product that will revive helmet hair?

Buy a Sliks. You put in on under your helmet, and it prevents the itchy sweaty helmet head. The girls that I sell helmets to ALWAYS buy one of them. You can get them from aftermarket shops, or anyone who is a Drag Specialties or Parts Unlimited Dealerhow bout gettin the scoot up to 45 mph.no helmet just long enough to deal with it. problem solved.
Hairbrush works best for me! Or, just don't take off your helmet. :)

You will probably notice that middle-aged bikers have substantial baldness. This is no coincidence; the helmet kills hair cells.
Redex, additives, stp, wynns. Any good & are they safe on bikes?
Great question Melicious, and it's one I've struggled with too. The only solution I found, was to grow out my hair and wear it in a pony-tail because at least you can brush it and put it up. I've had my hair super short too and used a type of molding gel but I didn't like the feel of it and it messed up my helmet. Otherwise, I wear a ball cap which is not really useful if you are going to work...I didn't really appreciate all the flippant and juvenile comments from the guys. This is a motorcycle site and it's not just for the testosterone club members. Many women ride and they have questions that you may not identify with but at least keep your traps shut if you have nothing to say. Thanks for the support Firecracker - and thanks for the tip Smartass...Well said, biker babe.
Some guys have long hair too. Being a guy, I never put a lot of stuff in my hair to begin with. No hairspray, gel, or what have you. A brush takes care of the tangles.
Aside from the testosterone thing, many people use multiple elastic ties in a pony tail to keep it together. Another alternative would be a braid. This works well when you are going someplace and won't have the opportunity to straighten up. Another would be a hair wrap, there are a few styles. They fasten with a built in barrette and keep a ponytail from getting tangled.
I had to cut mine short last summer, but it's coming back.
And I wear a helmet once in a while.
