Question:
I like hondas and Triumphs.
Answers:
Hyosung GT650R and Hyosung GT250R versus Suzuki SV650?
Take it from the friend of a Triumph owner -- my buddy spends way more time (and lots of money) working on his Triumphs than he does riding them. I had a 1980 Honda CB650 Custom when I lived in California and it ran very well. Go for a Honda unless you're really into working on bikes. See if your $1,000.00 can get you a used Nighthawk or Magna. They're AWESOME!SV650 or SV650S? Which would you choose...?
My husband started on a 1979 Honda. It was great because it was old, but ran great. He wasn't concerned about it if he dropped it (which he never did) He used that for about a year then got a new Suzuki sportsbike when he felt that he had the hang of riding. He still has the 1979 Honda, if you are looking in the Seattle area, we are putting it up for sale soon.from what i've been seeing, a 20 year old metric cruiser would be around that price. triumph's are pretty much 'vintage iron', and if ur not all that mechanically inclined, u might think u've bit off a bit too much to chew with maintaince.
panheads and shovelheads could also be a high maintainence bike also, and the shovel is when hd was owned by the inept amf.
