Average cost of a motorbike?

Question:
Hello,

I have a 1000 cc 1975 sporster with kick start only. I want to convert and put an electric starter on.?

I am very interested in taking up riding a motorbike to work to beat the stop and start driving I do while in the car. I am just looking at a basic 125cc commuter to ride, nothing fancy. Hopefully a road legal trail bike. I would like to know the average cost of insurance and road tax. I will be 25 during the month, so maybe that will help keep cost down. I will also enjoy keeping bike maintained when I get it, as I do that already with car. I assume a bike is so much easier to look after and repair as there is less bits.

I have a pioneer nevada 125cc motorbike can it be de-restricted?

Is it safe to guess you're in the UK? If so, ignore some of the other comments, they are obviously American - 125cc 2-strokes are perfectly legal in Britain, although I'd steer clear of them for now if I were you, and Americans aren't aware that in order to be allowed to ride a motorbike in the UK there is a compulsory training course you must take. 2 strokes have fewer moving parts, but are no less involved to maintain, and will seize up eventually. Road tax on a 125 is £15 annually, insurance will be fairly harsh as a new rider - I'd guess at your age about £250 to £300 for a cheap older 125 like a Honda CG125, which would be my recommendation, as they are practically indestructible in normal use. Avoid cheap Chinese or Korean bikes like the plague, too.

What is the first year that Kawasaki came out with the Ninja ZX14?

your only going to have a top end of about 50 mph. You really should get a 4 stroke, b/c i don't think you can legalize a 125cc 2 stroke anyway.
dirt bikes are easy to work on, but they have a tendency to break down more, you will have to replace more parts on it then you would a car.

Whats the specification of new Karizma? Is it more powerful?

125cc wouldnt give u very much to work with, and when dealing with an area that's heavily infested with dumbass cages, it would be dam near suicidal to take a 125cc bike. i'd suggest at least a 750cc cruiser at the minumum, like a honda shadow. that bike flicks thru the curves exceptionally nice. looks can be deceiving, it feels alot lighter than it looks, and it would have enough reserve power that if u need it, u can pour on the coal to evade 'joe idiot cager'. maintainence wouldnt be much of a problem with it either. just add gas, and check the oil/air pressure every so often. insurance would be alot cheaper than with a rice rocket at ur age also. ur country...and i assume its the u.k...might differ, but in the states, 25 yr old males on a rocket might wind up gettin jacked in insurance rates..especially if they already have speeding tickets from the car. the shadow also is a no-frills bike. isnt fancy, wont stand on 1 wheel if u crack the gas, and wont go from 0-60 in 2 seconds..but will be enough to get from point a to b and back with enough power to handle 65 or 70 mph speeds no problem. and by the way.knobby tires dont handle all that well on asphalt roads.

Handlebar End Mirror Spacers?

if you go for a 125 then get a four stroke more grunt top speed will be more than 50 but will take more time to get to top speed,

What is the book price for a 2005 model rm250 motorcross bike?

Insurance will be much better when you hit 25, and you will need to get a 4-stroke to be street legal in most states. You can get a 250 really cheap, and could get almost 70mpg on one.

Can someone please give me instructions to unrestrict my VMOTO Monza 50cc. Need a bit more power.?

The expensive part of motorcycles are the tires. Depending on your ride, you will probably go through a set every year to the tune of $250-$400. Take an MSF course before you ride, and budget another $500 for gear to protect yourself.
