What is the difference between a fender elimination kit and a undertail or hugger?

I have an 06 Katana, I need to get rid of that awful looking fender, I'm wondering what is the best way of going about it is.

If you take your seat off and look around the fender may be able to be removed without cutting anything, then you can relocate the license plate and blinkers or you can buy the kit to do it but those are usually really expensive however they do look good. When I took my fender off I used a couple of L brakets and a 12" strip on aluminum from Home Depot to relocate everything and people seem to like it and want me to do the same to thier bike so if your good with your hands try it yourself. Just dont cut anything unless your absolutely sure about it. Otherwise just type in suzuki katana fender eliminator into google and you can find several sites that sell them.
