How can I tell if I have a V-Star Custom or Classic?

I purchased a used 1999 Yamaha V-Start that has had a lot of custom work done to it. I was wondering how I can be certain if it is a Custom or Classic model.

Ski....click on my profile and look at the black bike. It is my wifes 1100 Classic.(with lots of custom work done to it to) pay close attention to the rear fender. If the pic is too small there are better ones in my 360 yahoo.

I too would be interested in a good answer on this question. I know that if you go to the link below and type in your VIN, it will decipher the VIN code for you, but I don't think that the VIN will tell you if you have a classic or a custom.
