Question:
I know they banned them as of Jan 1, 1988, but the ban was for 10 years. So, as of 1997 manufacturers could start making them again. Anyone a three wheeler fan and want them to start making them again? I have a 1985 Yamaha Tri-Z 250 that I would put up against any atv out there today. I have smoked banshees, yzf 450s, you name it and I have raced it.

Three wheelers have never been band. You must be talking about dirt toys.Im about to buy a Kawasaki zx 14 but i heard Suzuki is coming out with a Hayabusa 1500?
Trikes will always be faster since they have less weight, but I do not think any manufacturer will be interested in bringing them back. The liability is to great. Quads are more stable and given the choice most buyers would go fo a quad over a trike. If a buyer really wants to "rip" they can always buy a dirt bike.Basically, I do not think there is a market for the off road trike anymore. If Honda made one, I don't think they would sell many.
I am 17 years old and am ready to purchase my first motorcycle.?
Yea, the ban was only for the commercial sale of trikes....I for one prefer my quad because you are certain to flip a trike, its a matter of time. I owned a big red atc many years ago and I remember it was hard keeping it on all wheels. And it is harder to steer and throw around like you can with a quad. They are just more dangerous plain and simple...Honda cr80 engine 96 into 86 frame?
I know they are making a retro comeback though....people that have them in their garage like to rebuild them and restore them. Its like anything else, after a period of time people get nostalgic and want to relive the past. Personally, I would much rather ride my Z400 and lets see you smoke that on a woods trail!
