Question:
I'm a cautious guy. I've broken one rib so far in life, never been into extreme sports. Going too fast for no reason other than kicks seems silly to me. But, even if I'm cautious, is a 750 GSXR too much power and handling for a first bike, or will the age of the bike keep it somewhat calm?

Why aren't all the wheels on a horse drawn buggy small & level?
does road rash mean anything to u? it soon will if u get that bike. all it takes is crackin on the gas the wrong way at the wrong time. this is a race-type bike, way too much power for a rookie to safely control. forgiving this bike aint; this scoot will do what u tell it to do instantly, even if it will cause u to go down. age of the bike means little. it will be just as mean now as it was back then.....even if this bike was around in 1984, it'll still kill a rookie just as quick.if u have to have a rocket, get a 250 ninja; at least that will be much more forgiving if u screw up. crotch rockets are typically 'reserved' for extreme riders.
Anyone know of a motorcycle with a roll cage and seat belts?
thats a real mean bike, if you go that way take awhile to learn to ride itI wanna learn how to ride a motorcylce?
GSXR 750 is a pretty tuff bike. If you hammer the gas in first or second gear the front wheel will come up. If you are comfortable on it and can maintain throttle control then why not. Just don't over do it.where can i buy the 200cc to 250cc motorcycle in shanghai by good price ?
Yes you could buy the GS, and it would grow on you and be an enjoyable ride.Assuming you like seeing Corvettes and Mustangs fade in your rear-view mirror.
If you don't think speed will settlle your dinner properly then I suggest something a bit more tamer.
Any bike over 500cc can beat any average car, regardless of the bikes' age. Most new bikes handle better then older bikes, but aren't a whole lot faster.
If the bike has "X", "R" or "FXR" in it's name, it probally requires a pilot's license.
.
I suggest you first learn to ride on a smaller bike and take lessons wether it's required in your state or not. Some places provide a small bike to learn on, you'll have to check that out yourself.
Either way, learn how to stop before you learn how to go!
does anybody know of a web site or place that sells HARLEY DAVISON PARTS for way less than dealer?
that bike will tame you.consider a different bike.but that isup to you.
best buy for motorcycle rain gear and chaps?
Even if George Foreman is old and retired, I still wouldn't want to take a punch from him! A 750cc sportbike is too much for a first timer, old or not. It's good that you don't see speed as the end-all, be-all of life, but if you've never had a motorcycle this is not the bike for you.Throttles on motorcycles are touchy- far more than a gas pedal- and it only takes a small twist to rocket you into the realm of soiling yourself. Look into a used SV650 (2003 on up have fuel injection and make great bikes) or GS500, take an MSF course, and wear FULL gear. You'll appreciate the capabilities of even a small bike if you learn how to ride it properly.
looking for a Indian motorcycle mechanic. Near Redwood City Ca.?
If your just starting out Id go for a used sv650 if you really want a sport bike. They have minimal plastic for when you drop it and you will drop it, everyone does. They aren't nearly as touchy as the GSXR meaning they are very forgiving to learn on but as you ride more and more you will not outgrow it as quickly as you would a ninja 250 and when your ready there are many after market parts if you want to go faster. I started out on a new one, got a great deal only paid $5300 for it otherwise wouldve bought a used one, and enjoy it very much. Hope that helps you, have fun and ride safe.can you clean motorcycle carbs while still on bike gpz900a1?
I don't think I've ever heard of a tame gsxr unless it has a dead battery.More Questions & Answers ...
