Stainless steel bolts will they stretch with heat in say a engine sump or other high heat areas?

will they stretch to the extent of allowing oil leaks in the extenal usaage on a motor cycle engine that does generate a lot heat or just bite it and go chrome steel bolts, but how does the chrome go with usage of spanners reglaruy at service time.

Stainless are not as strong as grade eight, but they are stronger than grade 5's. I use a lot of stainless bolts (even in areas intended to have grade 8, I've not had a break yet. Sounds like you're just going to use them on a gasketed cover? 10lbs torque or so? .You'll be fine.
A P.S. the quality of the chrome bolts varies greatly, if you're concerned about strength use stainless, if you polish( On a grinder with a polishing wheel) stainless they look as good as chrome.
