Starting problems with a stored motorcycle?

Question:
i have a honda superhawk that i have not ridden in about 1 1/2 years. i did not put any fuel stabilizer in it and have not started it but a couple of times. i drained all of the fuel and added new, checked the spark plugs and they are good(and it is getting spark) replaced the battery, drained the carb bowls and it will not start. all it will do is crank, does not act like it wants to start. any help will be greatly appreciated.

I own a 1971 Kawasaki F7 175 and my throttle cable seems to be broken?

Sitting that long, the old gasoline will create deposits that clog the jets. Your going to need to remove the carbs and clean them out. You'll need to clean the jets and remove the sediment that has hardened in them. You can also soak the carb in cleaning solution to soften up the deposits.

Piaggio Diesis 1oo scooter?

Just this sort of Q is answered in Cycle World forums. Anyway. Spark is one check. Another is if the cylinder is getting fuel for the spark to ignite. The carbs have really tiny jets and most likely they are clogged but that may take a dis-assembly to correct and is usual for ur problem. Look also for cracks around the intake tubes fm carbs to cyl. Choke operation is real impotant also. So getting clean fuel to ignite should be ur goal without too much air in the mix.

Bicycle lock problems?

Most likely your jets are plugged. This is a very common problem w/bikes that sit alot. Especially if there is no fuel stabilizer or it isn't started regularly.
If the bike had no problems starting & running b4 it was put up it likely hasn't developed an electrical/ignition problem while sitting. That is not written in stone, but it's a fair assumption.
Do not ground a plug to the case, or wherever, & crank the bike to check for spark. You can damage the electronic ignition control module on most bikes doing this.
Good Luck.

Am I too big to buy a H-D sportster?

Looks like you took all the precautions and have checked or replaced all the pertinent stuff. Try a shot of starting fluid in the air intakes to the airbox. If that don't work; change plugs, if still dont start. The carbs gotta be cleaned.
