Answers:
The one bandit 600 is referring to is silkolene pro fst. It's the best (if not the only thing) for carb icing.
If we buy a motorbike directly from the motorshop can we choose the plate number?
I've used redex before, didn't do any harm but I couldn't say it did any good either, couldn't feel any difference at all.
When buying your first used motorcycle, how many miles on the bike is too much?
Spray carb cleaner is a powerful cleaning agent used for removing deposits & dirt in carbs or fuel injectors.
How to hold brushes in reassembling dc electric motor?
To use you normally remove the air filter, spray the exterior of the carb & its linkages, then start the engine & spray the valve, throat & throttle plate area . The engine is then revved to remove deposits. (at least thats what it says on the back of the tin). I wouldn't think of this as a routine maintenance proceedure, more of a cure when you are having a specific problem.
Who knows where to get ec homologated scooters and motorcycles?
I have only ever used carb cleaner on a stripped carb which was gummed up after being left standing for years. Usually if there is dirt or a blockage in the carb it can be blown out with an airgun. I can say though it was very effective at dissolving old deposits in the carb.
Can a domino effect be created if motorcycles are parked side by side and 1 is pushed over?
The simple answer to the question is all of these additives will be safe to use, whether they are worth the money is as far as I'm concerned not proven.
ive tried redex and stp on a single cylinder. I would be warery of trying carb cleaners as they can damage rubber and plastice parts and create new problems!
Whats the top speed of the Honda 954?
For carb icing the best product for you is a Silkolene fuel additive. Redex is more for de-carnoising your engine, the Silkolene product combats the fuel icing problem. How do you do a wilie with a 600cc motorcycle..( i weight about 130 ponds)?
IMNTBHO - the vast majority of fuel additives are expensive, un-necessary and can even be harmful. Ordinary pump gas already has detergents and additives to keep fuel injectors, jets and combustion chambers clean. The only additive I would recommend is Stabil which you add to the gas tank, then run the engine for a while and shut it off. It's used to prevent varnishing if the bike (or snowmobile, Jet-Ski, ATV, etc...) is stored for a long time.
How much should I pay for a paint job for my CBR?
As for spray-type carb cleaners, they work very well. Just be careful when using them to prevent overspray which can damage paint or get in your eyes. Been there - done that - no fun...
What is a good very beginner sport bike?
Redex is snake oil. Silkolene Pro FST is what you want.read the ans. mine is that maybe not any. Alternative is too warm up the bike with a warmer, then go. when u get there blanket the motor. riding in the cold is not fun unless ur bike has a plug to get the electrons to your suit. sounds like ur bike is not made for the cold fm the get go. Ive had xj's and xs's. xs's are cold blodded, xj's so-so.
Suggestions for additional motorcycle lighting, LED or non-LED?
I have spent many years repairing both cars and motorcycles and I have my own opinions on thie use of additives as followsFirstly Yes they are very good in some circumstances. If your motor is in good condition in the first place then I believe additives are a waste of money. All the various ingredients that are necessary are added to the fuel and to the oil that you use anyway. Adding more is only more to combust and leave deposited to the inside of your cylinders.
Now if your engine is in poor condition then fuel and oil additions are not going to do any good anyway as the damage is already there and no amount of cr@p is it is going to help
