Have you ever outran a cop on your motorcycle?

Depends on the market that you live in. In the midwest you can get some accessories thrown in free, maybe a jacket and helmet, stuff like that. They will get sticker for the bikes, but give you some stuff to compensate. The motor company has incentives for dealers that sell bikes at full retail (like getting more bikes in the next year's alotment) so they will work with you in other areas.

Can we use super chargers in bikes?

As far as a waiting list goes? There hasn't been a list since early 2002 around here. If you have to have something different (special order paint, Screamin Eagle) you may have to wait up to 3 months, but the dealerships here have so many bikes they are still crated up in the back, showrooms are full.

I recently inherited a 1975 Yamaha RD350 that has 10,000 original miles. Curious if it is worth restoring.?

Work with a couple dealers, find one that treats you right, gives you a discount on future purchases for buying a bike from them, throws in some goodies, and seems like they know what they are doing.

Also, chances are, your bank can get you better financing, BUT on sportsters (slower sellers than big twins) Harley sometimes offers special financing (low rates, no payments, things of that nature) be sure you check your bank and the dealership. Also, some dealerships will work with other banks (like car dealers). Competition is good. If the rate is lower at the dealership ask if it is a promo, if it is a short term rate that spikes later on, things of that nature. The salesman may not disclose everything unless you ask because it is in the fine print. These guys are just like car dealers, so be prepared!

Does a 1970's motorcycle need to have EPA (noise and emissions) stickers to pass inspection?

my mom and aunt bought theirs for less than sticker without haveing to negotiate. they also got $500 in extras. this was just last july.

When riding my motorbike i have developed the nasty habit of not using first gear but instead...?

Probably problems getting a Nightster or a 50th Anniversary Sporty. I think the 883R is the best of the bunch right now, but many have to have that 1200. If they have an 883R, give it a ride!

What happens when your motorcycle falls over?

Motorcycles aren't marked up as high as cars are so there is not room to negotiating on the price of a new motorcycle. Motorcycle dealerships don't do well with negotiating prices either especially this time of the year. If you can wait, your best deals will come at the end of the riding season when riding slows down and sales drop. This is between Oct-Dec. and is also the time the dealers mark down older bikes to make room for the newer models. It is also during this time the bikers trade in their bikes for newer and you get better deals on used models.Used bikes are often bought for less than blue book value and marked up above the blue book value to give the dealer negotiating power. These bikes are the ones you can get the dealer to work on your terms. The other thing to do is buy from a car dealership that also sells motorcycles, they mainly sell cars so they are more flexible in dealing with their prices. Beside this, they want to break into the bike sales business and want your referral. They also have their bikes on consignment so it costs them more to keep them on their floor. They also have more financing options to deal with, so the easier chance of getting approved. As for ordering one new, you will definately pay asking price and handling charges as well. They are in the Harley dealerships here in PA. I don't know about other states.
