Question:
i want to race in the western beach race and what would be checked

Answers:

I have a 1974 honda cb 750,?

The western beach race will be horrendous on both you and your bike. The main advice I can give you as a three time western starter, one time finisher, electrics need to be 100% water tight. Silicon seal every single every single point of potential water ingress.
Chain and sprocket needs to be 100%, take a spare set as the sand plays hell with the chain.
Inlet filter, take at least three spare filter.
One other thing to take is a portable/petrol high pressure jet wash, it will prove invaluable between laps to clean both you and the bike.
Try if possible to practise getting over the sand dunes as it takes some getting over them.
