Don't think there was only one. Indian and Harley, of course duked it out in WWII, Harley won. This resulted in countless HD 45's (750's) , many of which are still on the road. They also had a HD (called the WD, I think) that was a copy of the BMW's w/ an oposed twin engine and even a shaft, I believe. Triumph also had military models for years. Later even Kawasaki had a military KR model. Hope this helps, but I suspect you already know all this. Fun though.
