i would like to know if you can bring back to life an ali- engine with a cleaning agent, it is in pretty good shape but would like it gleaming but do not want to go as far as sand blasting, hope you have some good tips Thankyou

i wanted to clean my engine up i used a softish wire brush in a dremmel and then wire wool with a bit of chrome polish you just need to use an abrasive on it to take the crud off,but nothing to harsh as that will scratch and score the engine! a good high powered pressure wash might do the job too
