Why modern motorcycles have the front wheel taller than the rear one?
It's normal for engines to run rough or erratically when the enricher (choke) is pulled out. This is because the raw fuel isn't completely atomized and the mixture is very rich. After riding dirtbikes for years, what's a good street motorcycles for me to get?
The solution is to simply allow more time for your bike to warm up before riding off. Most air-cooled engines should be sufficiently warmed after 5 minutes. It may waste a little fuel, but it's safer than stalling in traffic and is easier on the engine.

read your manual it will tell you what rpm to keep your engine between while the choke is on I prefer to get mine off the choke as soon as posible so i don't foul a plug. let it warm up fully before you ride as the guy above stated1985 Virago 700, voltage drop?
Your bikes just not warm yet and your carbs arn't juicin' lucy right. If you had a fuel injected bike you wouldn't be having this problem. ATV Dune Riding? I know about Kermit, TX, but???
Start and ride your bike like you usually do (40 sec warm up).Only turn the choke half off.
As you're riding, turn the choke off in increments. By the time your bike gets to normal operating temperature, the choke should be completely off.
What is the size of the carbelator jet holder?
I just re-read your question. When you say "it gets excited and revs out a little", the clutch might be slipping under the load of going up the hill. Have it checked out. When you bring your bike in for it's yearly state inspection, ask the inspector to take your bike for a ride. This will save you money by not having to drop off your bike for a check-up.
