Shiftfork problem?

Question:
My right shift fork keeps getting chewed but everything on the gears is fine and my bike wont go all the way into first, the gears not getting pushed in all the way

if the rod that the fork rides on were bent this might explain your problem

One thing that has been over looked at least once in their life time, by every mechanic, is the shift drum. Look at the grooves in the shift drum with a magnifying glass. If you see any discoloration in the walls of the grooves, that's a sign of wear.
