Motorcycle for a highschool student?
Go a Ninja or GSXR600. The GSXR is probably the best bike you could buy if you had to choose between an R6, 600RR or Ninja. They constantly get the best write ups in the the bike mags when they are tested against the other bikes, plus they represent great value for your money. If you plan on doing track days where you get to do laps around a race track as fast as you like, they have no trouble keeping up with alot of the 1000CC motocycles on the tighter tracks where there are lots of corners due to their slightly smaller frame and responsive handling qualities. In Australia we have restrictions on what type of bike you can buy when you dont have your full motorcycle licence. You are restricted to 250cc Motorcyles for the first year and a half when you get your licence so as you can tell i am hanging out to get ym GSXR 600 in a couple of weeksDepends on your riding style and needs of owning a bike. All bikes have their pluses and minuses. If you are not in a hurry, maybe you could be satisfied with a metric cruiser, like the Suzuki Volusia 800 or the Honda VLX 600. If you like crotch rockets are on a budget, then you may wish to acquire the Honda 600 inline four cylinder bikes. These are always reliable if well maintained. If you like American bikes there is always HD, Victory and Buell. However, these are generally more expensive that Japanese substitutes unless you ride a Sportster. Good luck and ride safe.
