Can someone help me answer some questions about Motorcycles?

Question:
I have a couple of questions reguarding Motorcycles. I'm looking to buy a bike. I've never road one before. Who do I contact to get motorcycle lessons? How much does it cost. What type of license do I need to ride one. I like Cruisers. Thanks for your help!

Since you like cruisers I suggest you call your local Harley dealer and ask about riding classes. They furnish you with a small bike to learn the coordination and the handling principles. They teach you the dynamics that make a bike do what it does. Then they guide you through a course laid out on a blacktop parking lot until you are comfortable with handling the bike. If you do well and so far everyone has, you will be given your license by a member of the DMV on the last day of your class. It is a bit more expensive than some other classes, but you get to learn in the safety of trained instructors and on bikes furnished by the dealer. If you buy a bike and wipe out while learning it will cost you more than the riding course. They call it Riders Edge at Harley.

Plz suggest a technically good bike within 50000/-?

Contact your local ABATE chapter. They offer motorcycle training courses - a 2 day course cost about $150. At the end of your course you receive the motorcycle endorsement for your driver's license.

Have you ever...?

Most state require that you have a motorcycle license or the motorcycle endorsement or your regular driver's license.

Motorcycle?

Your local dmv is a good place to start, they might just have info about learn to ride courses. Also many community colleges give them as well, often in just one weekend, prices vary. A complete course will end with you having your license, and some of them even provide the bikes to learn on. You need a motorcycle learners permit to take these courses, a simple written test. But read through the book first! The questions can often be tricky. As far as what type of bike, their you are on your own!

Every Country, Province or State has different rules.

If you ask at a place where the give licences they can explain that part. Your phone book should have safe rider courses and the licence registry might even have some to recommend.

Hey does anyone know how many miles can the Yamaha YZF-R6 go for?

I would first learn to ride on the dirt then focus on the street. The dirt is a lot softer than pavement!
The dirt is a good place to hone your reflex with the bike. Then go and learn how to ride on the street, traffic, etc.
I have been riding for about 30 years I have seen a lot of inexperienced riders really mess up ,some are crippled for life!
The traffic these days is tight even in the country, suburbs. When I started you could go for hours and not see anyone on the road, in the same area, within 15 mins you will see some one.
All I am saying motorcycle riding is fun if your safe and ready to to ride.
Get a hold of your local DMV they can direct you.

Which motorcycle would be the best for me?

Sometimes some colleges offer lessons. I know the one around here charges 135 dollars for lesson and your license!

Any one know a good b&b in whitby or nearby with secure parking?

Contact your local state troopers, or junior college, and ask for information on the Basic Rider Course. A Motorcycle Safety Foundation approved course is also available at Harley-Davidson dealers. Your are looking at $150. for a three day BRC course.
(The Harley course is more expensive, but generally more available.)

On a Honda CX500, what is the electrical part located directly to the right of the battery?

The MSF , The Motorcycle Saftey Foundation, hosts classes in most major cities, Put them in your search engine with you city and zip code and it should give you a location.
I believe it's about $250.00 , but you get to use their bikes to learn on.
You will need to go to the DMV and pass a written exam and get your learners permit first. http://www.msf-usa.org

How many miles can you get out of a honda shadow ace 750cc fuel tank?

look at what your dmv recomends, then after you learn how to drive one, then go out and try to find a used one sense more than likely you will fall. then once you feel you out grew your first bike sell it and buy a bigger one. I took the MSF course and once i passed the class my test was waived at the DMV and i got licenced for motorcycles. then i went out and got a 2007 shadow vlx. i feel kinda bad for it sense i already fell off it and its brand new. good luck.

On a '71 DT 250, what should the points gap be set at?

Make sure you don't get a big expensive bike for your first. Chances are your going to make some mistakes. I haven't dropped it yet, but if it was any heavier I would have a few times. I'm 5'9" and bought a 2003 Honda Shadow VLX. It's a great learner bike..and it looks good. Also, about your M1's you can look on the net, or call a motorcycle shop close to you and ask for information. Good luck, and be safe.

What is the piece called that holds the clutch on a motorcycle....I have a CBR F3 600 need the name to buy?

1st thing an most important thing is take a MSF course!! I took one and it was the best thing you can do. Then choose a bike you like. Most start off small or with a light weight bike used before getting new. Me I got a Harley for my 1st I felt comfortable with going with it some may not cuz of the weight difference. Good luck!.
