Bikers are more open to and aware of their surroundings. To operate a motorcycle in a fun manner requires the body and mind to be quite busy, and the joy of completing that single track to the top of the mountain, or swooping through the corners of a winding road leave you with a sense of accomplishment and well being & naturally open to meet new people. I am a Dualsport motorcycle rider and belong to the Alberta DualSport Motorcycle Club. We post photos of our rides and organize rides all the time.

I have been riding for a short time, since 1952. Some where around 1/2 million miles so far, and still at it. Have 3 bikes registered and insured, a '83 Kaw KZ1100 Shaft, '89 ZX10. and '90 ZX11. Parts run to town, use the KZ1100, take turns on Sundays with the ZX's. Started on a Harley, then an Indian, another Harley, a Vincent, then many Triumphs, then to Kawasakis. Bikes have been a good part of my life, have operated a shop of some description for many years, as well as another job with a large computer company, which kept me on the road a lot, and some years in Europe, but always the bikes. Retired from the computer co. in '91, now, just a bike machine shop. Have not worked so hard, for so little money in many years, but I still enjoy the challenges of the work, and the people I meet. In younger years, did a bit of off road racing, a lot of drag racing, and the Bonneville Land Speed trials. If you look in their record book, you will still see my name in a few places. Bikes have been a bit part of my life, and I have made many friends, (yes, and a few enemies) thanks to them.Were is the registration form for the occ chopper giveaway-not the raffle?
I will always consider bikes to be the best way a man has to grow, and to be a real man. They have helped me more than any other one thing in my life, to be all that I have been in life.

biking is the best and the feeling after a ride is one of relaxed contentment. dont be fooled by car drivers. ive noticed when i pull up at lights or stop in traffic i always get looks and th ekids in cars wave i so i give them a nod. trust me more car drivers want to be where we are more then you realise.we are a special breed but the rest of the world dont know it.

I am in a reasonable position to being abe to get semi-retirement and the young age of 55 and will be working only 3 days a week at most and look forward to enjoying my new Harley. Our riding group are planning the Route 66 in May 2009. A bit away but it will soon come round.
Riding seems to detatch all of the cares and worries life gives you and you are able to return from the shortest of rides with a yarn or two.
