Any electrical components should be soldered with only rosin core solder. Not solid core, and definitely not acid core. Look for 60/40http://www.aaroncake.net/electronics/sol... may also be helpful

Rosin core solder is the stuff for electrical systems, NOT acid core, that's for regular metal soldering, it'll eat the wire insulation, you want ROSIN core.Which is sexier? guys on sport bikes or guys on harley's?

use only ROSIN CORE for electrical , and no it doesnt have any silver in it, any mix 70/30 or 60/40 or what ever, will work fine that is the lead /zinc mix , and it only makes a marginal difference in the strength of the join .More Questions & Answers ...
