How to hang off?

Question:
When u turn on a motorcycle (sport) how do u know that u have to hang off....i mean u cant probably hang off a 90degree turn with a red light.
But on a corner or continuous turn how do u hang off the motorcycle PROPERLY.Whats the proper technique and how and when do u get ur knee to the ground.

it would be safer to learn this on the track first instead of trying to learn it on the street. if u commit a bike to its max lean angle and the tire hits so much as 1 pebble, it will take u down in an instant.

if u dont have a track nearby, or have the cash to go to 1, first off, dont use an expensive bike. dress in full kevlar with plenty of padding, gauntlet gloves, full face shield helmet.
when u've found ur extreme twisty road, go thru the curves at a slow pace...but not so slow u'd hold up traffic. take good note of the condition of the road; any hazards...oil, tar snakes, gravel, sand, potholes.....any of these will take u down if u hit them at a max lean angle.
next is, slowly build up ur speed thru the corners. i find it's more of a rush to slow down before u hit the corner, go into the lean and be looking where u want the bike to go to....remember this....the bike will always go to the spot that u have ur gaze fixed on, shift ur butt off to the side of the lean, and roll on a good dose of power. be advised.....when the pegs start to scrape, u've reached max lean angle. any further lean will put u down.
engage the twisties in baby steps if this is an unfamilar road, and even on familiar roads, be careful. u may know the road, but the road doesn't know u.

You just do your u turn in a very careful manner you must be balanced the knee on the ground bit is only for race bikies it is not recommended to do this street wise.

to get yourself a little closer to the ground you need to practice counter steering. Try it sometime just when you are in a straight away. Turn your handlebars to the left slightly very slightly, and you will see that the bike will go to the right and if you turn it to the right the bike will go to the left. Once you see how slight you have to turn it just to get it leaning on a straightaway then you can try it in a turn. Keep leaning into the turn and counter steer. You will get pretty close to the ground. Countersteering only works when you are going maybe above 20-25. Try it a little at a time and before long you can take turns real well.

You hang off when necessary to counterbalance your cornering forces and centrifugal force against your level of grip and throttle position. You get your knee down when you have sufficient YEARS of experience and can take corners fast enough to lean far enough to get your knee down.
