Is it possible to get a bike onto a swingarm stand with just one person, by yourself?
No... diesel engine is a big heavy thing for a motorcycle. besides, diesel engine usually equips with turbo charger/air compressor to combust instead of spark plug... which mean, you need a tough cylinder wall for its high compression. imagine all those in a small thing like a mortor cycle... even tho its designed and put into the market, the result will be "expense as hell and no one is going to buy it."it might happens to military use, for consumer market... it's avantage does not overcome its pro over gasoline motor for consumer to buy.
How to obtain motorcycle endorsement in Michigan?
there are some diesel motorcycles out there. some are military bikes and others are for personal recreation. I've read articles on them from time to time and I'm always fascinated to read about them. i don't think that anyone is planning to produce them for the public anytime soon, but with the price of gas now, who knows for sure. How much did a 2004 model triumph america cost?
Royal Enfield motorcycles in India produced a diesel bike for years. It was there standard bullit bike frame and tranny and I believe a Lombardi (Italian) diesel engine, about 350cc. I have seen pictures of the Enfield bikes using a few other brands of diesel engines, but, I believe they were home built not factory. They were said to be not very powerful, but, gave very high miles per gallon. There are some new diesel designs out there with high tech injection systems that neither smoke or stink (as much) and are supposedly alot more efficent than gasoline engines. I just remembered the Enfield company has stopped producing the diesel models, but, there are probably a number of used ones to be had if you looked long enough.
