What are the best tyres for a 1999 Suzuki GSXR600?

--"swthollitoes" gave a good answer. When he mentioned "expansion chamber" he was talking about the exhaust pipe. Between the engine and the silencer (muffler), a 2 stroke has a bulge in it about 6-8" in diameter.
--When he mentioned valve head - look at the cylinder. Near the top of the cylinder, you can see where the "cylinder head" is bolted to the cylinder (you'll see the edge of the head gasket). A 2 stroke's head is about 2-3" thick. A 4 strokes head will be 4-6" thick.
--Some 4 stroke models have a "valve cover". And some have inspection caps on the head, in the front & rear. They're removable to adjust the valves.
--4 stroke engines with a valve cover will look like this
from the side going from bottom up -
Engine - gasket - cylinder - gasket - head - gasket - valve cover.
--Another "tip-off" - a 2 stroke engine will have the spark plug sticking straight up, in the center of the cylinder head.

What is the purpose of "reserve" in bikes?

to look at them a 2 stroke has no valve head. it does not require a valve system to work. on the four stroke, you will see a valve head, and a smaller header pipe. a 2 stroke has a bigger expansion chamber that is very noticable.

I can't tell the difference by looking at them, but they sound distinctly different. A two stroke has a much higher pitch(like the cycles you see on x games that flip). A four stroke sounds much lower in pitch(like a four wheeler).

IT ALL IS IN THE STROKES IN THE PISTONS WERE A 2 STROKE HAS INTAKE COMPRESSION, ON ONE STROKE OF IT AND EXPANSION EXHAUST ON THE OTHER == 2 STROKES 4 HAS ALL OF THEM 4 STROKES OF THE PISTON TO COMPLETE A FULL CYCLE INTAKE . COMPRESSION , EXPANSION, EXHAUST THAT IS WHY A 2STR REVS HIGHER TO COMPUSATE FOR THE MORE CYCLES IT HAS TO GO THROUGH
