If you took the time and money to buy a 89 Harley Springer Softail you should probably have spent an extra 40 bucks on a manualI got gas in the face from Harley gas tank, do these tanks have a overflow line?

Amy, here is what ya do. Take it to an independant shop and ask the mechanic to let you watch. After that you will know how to do it. Also, with the springer front end there are some things that need greased on the neck and the springs need retorqued. As far as the other fluids being changed you need to adjust primary chain drive as well as the rear belt drive. Start hanging around the garage of a HD dealership& talk to a mechanic or 2 while they are out smoking a cigarette and you would be surprised at how many do the service work at home on the side and for 1/2 the shop price will service your bikeAll you need to do is wait for the old oil to leak out then just add the new oil. Shouldn't take to long 2-3 days at most.
